Design and display
The Huawei MatePad Air comes in two variants — a regular and a “Soft Light Edition”, both with an all-metal body. These models show off a sharp 12-inch 2.8K LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It is also HDR Vivid certified and has a P3 movie-grade color gamut.
The main highlight of the device comes with the Soft Light Edition. This variant uses high-precision nano-etching technology, which reduces screen flash by 50%, helping to minimize eye strain and maintain screen clarity even during extended use.
As for color options, you can choose from up to four colors —Grass Green, Sakura Pink, Feather Sand White, and Smoky Gray shades.

The MatePad Air 2025 runs on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 5 platform, although the details about the chip powering this tablet remain unknown for now. But we do know it will be complemented with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage.
This tablet will also include a handful of AI features, like Huawei’s AI assistant “Xiaoyi Intelligent Body”. There is also a new “M-Pencil Pro” stylus with a smart button for quick access to AI command or voice-to-text feature.
